As a proof of concept, we created Remington-VA.gov for the Town of Remington, Virginia. It is a simple and elegant solution for a town of less than 1,000 residents. The site features an easy-to-use web content management system, directory of businesses located in Remington, a News blog, a photo slide show on the home page, search engine optimization, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 for accessibility.
What was once a Civil War battlefield and a thriving town on the O&A Railroad, Remington pretty much disappeared from the map when a new Interstate (I-66) was created and bypassed the town. Remington-VA.gov helps put this sleepy historic town back on the map.
I took a quick peek at the website and it looks great.
